How to remove the text from the Desktop icon?

Desktop is the interface of Windows, which contain the icons, taskbar etc. that allow the user to interact with the computer to perform different operations. Usually the picture of icon represents its purpose so if you want your desktop looking very clean then you can remove the title under the desktop icons. May be you are thinking it is so easy, just go to rename option and set blank name or single spacebar entry but the problem is this, windows will not allow you to set blank name or name with single spacebar entry. Here interesting thing is this; window will allow you to use the ASCII code for a space, which is 0160.

First clear all the text from that icon

Now type the ASCII code, simply hold the Alt key, type the number 0160 from the number pad and release the Alt key then press Enter button to finish the process.

Before

After

But if you want to remove the text of multiple icons, then repeat the above process with adding one extra ASCII code for second icon, (for example for second icon you type the 0160 twice and for third icon type 0160 three times with Alt key and so on).

ABOUT TSUNAMI

What is tsunami?

Tsunami is a Japanese word with the English translation, "harbor wave." The phenomenon we call tsunami is a series of large waves of extremely long wavelength and period usually generated by a violent, impulsive undersea disturbance or activity near the coast or in the ocean. When a sudden displacement of a large volume of water occurs, or if the sea floor is suddenly raised or dropped by an earthquake, big tsunami waves can be formed by forces of gravity. Earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, explosions, and even the impact of cosmic bodies, such as meteorites, can generate tsunamis. Tsunamis can savagely attack coastlines, causing devastating property damage and loss of life.

How do earthquakes generate tsunamis?

Tsunamis can be generated when the sea floor abruptly deforms and vertically displaces the overlying water. Tectonic earthquakes are a particular kind of earthquakes that are associated with the earth's crustal deformation; when these earthquakes occur beneath the sea, the water above the deformed area is displaced from its equilibrium position. Waves are formed as the displaced water mass, which acts under the influence of gravity, attempts to regain its equilibrium. When large areas of the sea floor elevate or subside, a tsunami can be created.

What happens when a tsunami encounters land?

Just like other water waves, tsunamis begin to lose energy as they rush onshore - part of the wave energy is reflected offshore, while the shoreward-propagating wave energy is dissipated through bottom friction and turbulence. Despite these losses, tsunamis still reach the coast with tremendous amounts of energy. Tsunamis have great erosional potential, stripping beaches of sand that may have taken years to accumulate and undermining trees and other coastal vegetation. Capable of inundating, or flooding, hundreds of meters inland past the typical high-water level, the fast-moving water associated with the inundating tsunami can crush homes and other coastal structures. Tsunamis may reach a maximum vertical height onshore above sea level, often called a run up height, of 10, 20, and even 30 meters.

Speed of tsunami

Tsunami wave can travel at the speed of a commercial jet plane, over 800 km/h. They can move from one side of the Pacific Ocean in less than a day. The waves can be extremely dangerous and damaging when they reach the shore.

What should you do?

1. If you are at home and hear there is a tsunami warning, you should make sure your entire family is aware of the tsunami. Your family should evacuate your house if you live in a tsunami evacuation zone.

2. If you are at the beach or near the ocean and you feel the earth shake, move immediately to higher ground. Do not wait for a tsunami warning to be announced.

3. If you are on a ship or boat, do not return to port if you are at sea and a tsunami warning has been issued for your area. Tsunami can cause rapid changes in water level and unpredictable dangerous current in harbours and ports.

Liverpool FC

Liverpool Football Club is a professional football club based in Liverpool, England which plays in the Premier League and is one of the most successful in the history of English football, winning more trophies than any other English club. Liverpool has won a joint-record eighteen league titles, seven FA Cups, seven League Cups and five European Cups, an English record. The club was founded in 1892, and quickly became a strong force in English football, winning five league championships between 1900 and 1947. However, Liverpool spent several years in the Second Division (level 2) during the late 1950s, and did not win promotion again until the appointment of Bill Shankly as manager in 1959. The club traditionally played in red and white, but this was changed to all red in the 1960s. Under Shankly's management, Liverpool won three League Championship titles, two FA Cups and a UEFA Cup; the club's first European trophy. In the past 30 years, they have been one of the most successful clubs in English and European football; they won four European Cups between 1977 and 1984. The club experienced a lean period during the 1990s, but saw a revival when they won a cup treble in 2001 and the club's fifth European Cup in 2005. The Heysel Stadium disaster made the club infamous in Europe; 39 Juventus fans died after a wall collapsed as they fled from charging Liverpool fans. The club was involved in a worse disaster four years later—the Hillsborough Disaster— which saw the death of 96 Liverpool fans in a crush against perimeter fencing. Both disasters have had wide-ranging impacts on English and European football, and the club to this day. Liverpool F.C. has played at Anfield since its formation, but plans to move to a new stadium in Stanley Park, which was due to be completed by 2011 but has been put on hold until economic conditions improve. Liverpool has a large and diverse fan base, which holds long-standing rivalries with several clubs. The most notable of these is their rivalry with Manchester United, and Everton, with whom they regularly contest the Merseyside derby.

History of the Internet

Before the wide spread of internetworking (802.1) that led to the Internet, most communication networks were limited by their nature to only allow communications between the stations on the local network and the prevalent computer networking method was based on the central mainframe computer model. Several research programs began to explore and articulate principles of networking between physically separate networks, leading to the development of the packet switching model of digital networking. These research efforts included those of the laboratories of Donald Davies (NPL), Paul Baran (RAND Corporation), and Leonard Kleinrock at MIT and at UCLA. The research led to the development of several packet-switched networking solutions in the late 1960s and 1970s, including ARPANET and the X.25 protocols. Additionally, public access and hobbyist networking systems grew in popularity, including unix-to-unix copy (UUCP) and FidoNet. They were however still disjointed separate networks, served only by limited gateways between networks. This led to the application of packet switching to develop a protocol for internetworking, where multiple different networks could be joined together into a super-framework of networks. By defining a simple common network system, the Internet Protocol Suite, the concept of the network could be separated from its physical implementation. This spread of internetworking began to form into the idea of a global network that would be called the Internet, based on standardized protocols officially implemented in 1982. Adoption and interconnection occurred quickly across the advanced telecommunication networks of the western world, and then began to penetrate into the rest of the world as it became the de-facto international standard for the global network. However, the disparity of growth between advanced nations and the third-world countries led to a digital divide that is still a concern today.

Following commercialization and introduction of privately run Internet service providers in the 1980s, and the Internet's expansion for popular use in the 1990s, the Internet has had a drastic impact on culture and commerce. This includes the rise of near instant communication by electronic mail (e-mail), text based discussion forums, and the World Wide Web. Investor speculation in new markets provided by these innovations would also lead to the inflation and subsequent collapse of the Dot-com bubble. But despite this, the Internet continues to grow, driven by commerce, greater amounts of online information and knowledge and social networking known as Web 2.0

how to get started in adsense?

Google AdSense is the first tool you should begin using if you're trying to make money online as a new website publisher. It allows you to easily monetize your websites with a few simple clicks. If used properly, it can generate a large and steady income from visitors to your web pages who click on ads. If used incorrectly, however, by not maximizing the income potential of your ads, you can leave a lot of money on the table

You can start making money with Google AdSense quickly and easily. And if your website is getting traffic, you'll be amazed at the results you'll be getting. Focusing on three basic steps to get started with AdSense will ensure that you maximize the income earning potential and your long term success.

Before you apply for an account with Google and begin putting Google AdSense ads on your site, you need to have some content. Content on the Internet is King! You'll need to create a few articles or web pages that are key word focused and combine those articles into a theme based website. Keyword focused is an important term that you'll want to understand because that's what will determine how much AdSense revenue your page or article will generate.

To start making money with Google AdSense, you will need to do three things: 1) Do some keyword research, 2) Write keyword focused articles or web pages, and 3) Create a theme-based content website.

Do Some Keyword Research

You should consider some popular subjects or topics that you my know a little about or are interested in. It's much easier to write articles and develop web content when the subject is something you're interested in or even better, passionate about. Make a list of three subject area or topics that you are interested in, know something about, and will be able to write about.

Then for each subject, make a list of a few of the potential keywords or phrases you think people will use to find information about that subject in the search engines. You see, Google searches for web pages and displays the results based on the words or phrases that people use for their search. Advertisers pay for their ads to appear on pages that include content for the same keywords or search phrases.

Let's look at an example. Suppose I have an interest in woodworking and old woodworking tools (which I do), and I know a little about those subjects and would enjoy writing some articles and creating a theme-based web site about old woodworking tools.

I want to make some money with my website so I make a list of potential keywords and phrases that people might use to find my site. I can think of hundreds i.e. router, band saw, table saw, jointer, etc. Then I do some research to see how much demand there is for each of those keywords and also for how many web pages exist for each of those keywords. Take "table saw" for example. I used the Google Keyword Tool to find out that there were 165,000 searches using that keyword phrase in the United States in the past month. That's a lot. I also looked at some other similar phrases. I looked at "contractor's table saw." There were 1,300 searches for that phrase.

Now that's not all of the information I need, but it gives me a good idea of the relative popularity of those two search terms. Then I used the Google Keyword Tool to look at the estimated "Cost per Click" that advertisers were willing to pay for that keyword phrase. For the phrase "table saws" the advertisers were paying $1.37 per click. But for the phrase "contractors table saws" they were paying $3.51 per click. In the Google Keyword tool, the Estimated Average Cost Per Click (CPC) is the predicted average cost each time a user clicks your ad for that keyword. You should know also that that cost varies with the position of the ad on the page.

By doing a little research I know that clicks on ads for "contractors table saws" pay much better than for "table saws." I also know that there a whole lot more searches every month for the term "table saws" than there is for the phrase "contractors table saw." But I don't know anything yet about the supply of pages for those terms. Looking at both supply and demand will give me an indication of how much competition I will be facing in order to get to the top two pages of Google search results. Your goal is to get there so you'll get a lot of organic traffic to your website so that people will click on your ads.

We'll talk more about keyword research in another article, but for now, I'm going to write my keyword focused article about "contractors table saws" because there appears to be less competition and it pays more. Because there is less competition, I will have a better chance of getting to the top two pages of search results and I'll get more traffic. Now I have to write my article and place my ads.

Write Keyword Focused Articles or Web Pages

Start writing your keyword focused articles for each of the keywords or phrases you discovered in your research. You should know that great content is what the search engines are looking to find. Google loves good content and you should always keep that in mind as you write your article. If someone searches in Google for "contractors table saws" in order to keep their customer happy and coming back to Google, Google wants to find some quality pages about contractors table saws and return those pages in the listing of search results.

It is a win-win situation for everyone when this happens. The visitor to your website is happy because Google found for them your high value content web page about contractor's table saws. Google is happy because their customer is happy with the search results and found what they were looking for. I'm happy because a visitor to my website who was already looking for information about contractor's table saws found my site and might click on one of my Google AdSense ads which will make money for me. What a great system for making money and keeping everyone involved happy!

Create a High Quality Theme-Based Website

Finally, you need to have a high quality theme based website to place your keyword focused web page or article. By writing more and more articles and creating more and more high value keyword focused content pages, you'll eventually have a high quality theme based website. That's what Google is looking for and that's how your pages will move up in the search engine rankings and attract more traffic.

The reality is that until you have at least thirty articles or pages Google may not show you in the top search results and there is a lot more to know about optimizing your pages for the search engines. But as you continue to add keyword focused content that fits the theme of your website, you'll begin to generate traffic and the more high quality content you have, the more traffic you'll receive. As your website generates more and more traffic, your ads will get more and more clicks and your ad revenue will begin to grow.
